The WaterShed Climate+Water Center

Since 2008, The WaterShed has connected our community to the Treasure Valley’s essential resource: the Boise River Watershed. In 2025 the center transformed into the nation’s first climate and water education center. Be the first to explore new exhibits and hands-on activities that bring water and climate science to life. Explore more than 25 exhibits where you can shape a sand watershed, dance in the snow theater, tinker at the Innovation station, and pledge to make a difference in our community. The new exhibit hall is interactive, multilingual, accessible, free, and fun for all ages.

The River Campus, located on the 2-acres surrounding the education center, contains the largest concentration of public art that tells the story of our watershed from source water to the Snake River in a park-like setting. Experience being a water manager and releasing water from a dam, splashing in the open river channel and setting siphon tubes in the agricultural exhibit.  A sewer pipe play area and interactive trail with nature play stations make the River Campus a repeat destination for your family or group.

Enjoy free admission year-round.  Groups of 10 or more must make a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance.
